A ceremony set up with an asymmetrical arch and wooden benches lining the aisle in a grassy field with trees

Today we’re going to take a close looking at greeting guests as they arrive for your ceremony! There are many aspects of guest experience to be considered when planning a wedding, this is true. These are your loved ones! You have carefully considered every invite; you want everyone in attendance to have a memorable time. And it all starts with Prelude! So here are our Top 5 ways to greet your guests!

1 | Greet Guests with Live Music

There is nothing lovelier than entering a space full of live music. No matter what kind of music you enjoy: jazz, classical, blue grass, folk, top 40 – there is a way to preform it live as your guests enter your prelude.

2 | Greet Guests with Impactful Decor

Your venue has intrinsic magic, and you have the opportunity to embrace that and multiply it with carefully curated furniture and decor to make your guests comfortable. As you walk through venue choices, and budget, make room for special furniture or large floral installations! It immediately sets the tone of the event!

3 | Greet Guests with a Yummy Drinks

Spring for that favourite drink of yours, do one for each of you OR pop that bubbly and greet your guests with passed drinks as they arrive. If you have guests who don’t drink, you can greet them with a bubbly alternative such Perrier, sparkling juice. Don’t forget a lovely water station with lemon or cucumbers and lots of ice!

4 | …annnddd Refreshments

Sliders, mini-macaroni cups, beef tar tar, and an oyster shuck (for those who can partake)?! Yes, cocktail hour is typically the time to begin to dazzle guests with a taste of what they can look forward to throughout dinner, usually. But we’re of the mind that you can never have too much food. Trust us! As guests pick up that drink of special welcome drink, pair it with a lovely little something. It can be something that doesn’t quite go with dinner, or is a speciality dish that pays homage to your first date!

5 | Greet Guests with Unique Experiences & Vendors

Nothing is talked about more after an event than that one or two unique vendor that provided your guest a fun take away. Everyone remembers that live illustrations, the photo booth, the comfortable shoes they got to switch their heals out for – and they talk about it forever!
